Physical play includes activities that use physical movements to develop gross motor skills. Children need to use their energy in fun and wide movements and so by the children visiting the park this is a perfect opportunity!
Through outdoor play children get to learn new things about the community and world around them as well as socialising with each other in unfamiliar environments! Physical play also benefits a child’s health, they can breathe in fresh air and exercise.
The little learner’s children visited Harrow Lodge park this week and by doing this they had the opportunity to develop skills such as hopping, galloping, skipping, jumping etc. The preschool aged children also visited the local playground and therefore had the opportunity to climb, slide, swing and balance etc. Playgrounds are perfect places for a child to develop mental connections, develop social skills such as taking turns and sharing equipment.
