Leading the way,
learning through play!
“The facilities at Little Learners are amazing!” —Salma (Mother)
“Definitely one of the best nurseries in Redbridge!” —MC (Father)
“I am super happy leaving my child at Little Learners!” —Rutika (Mother)
Parents tell us that our nursery is the best! They tell us that the facilities are amazing and that they are super-happy to leave their children with us. They love the outdoor space with lots of toys, bikes, slides and water play – and they especially love the NEW soft play area and giant sandpit – the only nursery in Ilford to have one!
But don’t take our word for it – come and visit to see for yourself!
“[…]a great place to leave my child through the day and be confident he is in the right hands.”
“The manager is very friendly and supportive, proactive […] that’s what we parents expect.”
“The staff are cheerful, helpful and always open to feedback.”
“This is one of the best nurseries, my son loves the teachers and the manager is very friendly, loves children and value us, passionate, that makes me feel happy to bring another son here.”
“[…]being away from my country and family makes this decision even harder. But the reassurance, constant updates, response to calls even after 5 months, without hesitation has made my life easier.”
If you decide that this is the right nursery for you, then you can register your child on the day of your visit, or if you’re ready now you can click the button below to download an application pack.
On the day of your visit you’ll meet the nursery manager and be able to ask any questions, including which days you’d like your child to attend. We try to accommodate your wishes, but please be aware that this depends on availability of places.
During the week or two before your child starts nursery, you will be able to visit for free ‘settling-in’ sessions. These sessions will allow you both to spend some time in the nursery, get to know the staff and some of the other children. This will help both you and your child to feel happy, confident and secure, and help your child to understand that you will always return to collect them!
In addition to a friendly face at the Nursery door every day, you will also have access to Tapestry. This is a safe and secure app that brings Nursery and home together online, allowing nursery staff to share your child’s day and progress with you through photos and comments and you to upload comments photos from home. All password protected and accessed via your smartphone!
Our nurseries are located in central Ilford and Elm Park
Axon Place, Ilford
In Ilford, we can be found on the left hand side of Axon place, adjacent to Lynton House (London Borough of Redbridge council building). We are close to lots of bus routes and the train station. Safety of your children is really important to us, so:
At the secure black gates, simply press 300 for entry!
The purpose-built nursery is on the ground floor of a residential tower block, tucked around the corner, well away from public access, beyond the [name] tower block. Residents have no direct access. On arrival at the entrance a further entry buzzer provides an added layer of protection. You will be greeted at the door by friendly staff.
St. Nicholas Avenue, Elm Park
In Elm Park Little Learners is situated in a converted residential house, on St Nicholas Avenue, close to the shops, library and public transport.
Safety and security of your children are incredibly important to us, so on arrival you will need to press the buzzer adjacent to the entry gate. Our friendly staff will greet you once you have pressed the second buzzer at the front door.
Why you can trust us
We develop a range of support services for parents, designed to equip local families with the skills that they were asking for.
We establish the Parentlink forum and brings together recognised experts who helped to identify best practice for local and national parent support groups.
We open our first nursery. Commissioned by our home borough – the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham in East London – we establish and run one of the first Sure Start children’s centres in the locality, which includes a 60-place nursery. We go on to manage five other children’s centres; four in Barking and Dagenham and one in Streatham, South London.
We launch Totally Mums, a maternal health programme which works in partnership with hospital antenatal departments to help pregnant women to get ready for the birth of their baby and provide post-natal support.
Our then-CEO chairs the Centre for Social Justice’s (CSJ) working group on family breakdown, which contributes to the Breakthrough Britain II paper. This is commissioned by the Government and would published by the CSJ in 2015.
We open Little Learners, an independent nursery and pre-School in St Nicholas Avenue, Elm Park to provide the kind of high quality nursery that we would want for our own children. We later open a second nursery in Axon Place, Ilford, and have plans for a third to open in Ambleside Avenue, Elm Park soon.
All our nurseries are rated good by Ofsted!
What you can expect from us
The Little Learners culture springs from the things that LifeLine Projects (our parent charity) values highly: excellence, integrity, ownership, compassion and team. This picture illustrates how our culture drives how we act and what we do:
Working to the Early Years framework, every child who leaves us is well prepared and ready for school, determined to continue learning and have a positive effect on their friends and school community in the future.
We employ highly qualified staff who have high expectations of the children and provide an environment that supports and encourages their learning and development. We are very keen to build children’s confidence and whet their appetite to learn with a range of age-appropriate daily activities. Our staff will work in partnership with you to prepare your children for their next stage of life!
