Little Learners Nurseries are a new brand of Nursery based in Essex. Our existing nurseries are linked to a successful Charity based in East London and are located in close proximity to transport links into the city.

We currently have an exciting position which has arisen for a Nursery Room Leader.

The Nursery Room Leader will work effectively as part of a team, providing a stimulating and caring environment for babies and young children aged between 0 to 18 months and 18 months to 5 years.

Whilst being the main contact for the designated Nursery room, working alongside a team of Practitioners to ensure that the room operates smoothly and provides a safe environment for the children within the setting.

Planning, preparing and participating in a range of activities in line with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Service) Framework, to promote each child’s physical, intellectual and emotional needs to enable them to reach their full potential.

Supporting the Nursery Practitioners and students within the setting in the implementation and evaluation of children’s planning and progress.

The successful applicants will need:

• A minimum NNEB/CACHE, BTEC or NVQ in Childcare at Level 3.
• Recent training associated to caring for babies and young children .

• Recent experience of working in a care / education early years setting
• Recent experience of working with / caring for babies and young children.
• Recent experience of working in a care / education early years setting and providing a nursery curriculum for 0-3 and / or 3-5 years of age.
• Previous experience of planning age appropriate, short, medium and long-term plans in an early year’s setting to meet the needs of both individual children and those in a group setting in compliance with EYFS.
• Knowledge / experience of meeting the needs of children and families.
• Experience of maintaining accurate records and children’s profiles
• Ability to demonstrate verbal reasoning and listening skills.
• Ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds and organisations
• Ability to build relationships with children
• Be able to work independently using your own initiative as well as within a team.
• Ability to identify and deal with problems and to know when to refer on.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly and simply both verbally and in writing.

We are currently looking to recruit full time Apprentice Nursery Practitioner.

The Apprentice Nursery Practitioner will be trained to achieve the position of a Qualified Nursery Practitioner and to assist the Room Leader in all areas of daily tasks. To contribute to a high quality caring environment for children.

This includes creating a warm, friendly and stimulating atmosphere in which the children can develop emotionally, socially and educationally through individual attention and group activities.

This role will be for 1 year and if successful and vaccines are available at the tie then the apprentice may be able to fill one of these vacancies

LifeLine Projects is a charitable organisation serving the community by delivering public services (such as childcare, health and social care, housing, youth programmes and employability).

The English Teacher will teach KS4 students – GCSE / Functional Skills and Literature and ideally an additional subject. As a member of the teaching staff you will facilitate
the smooth and effective running of Lifeline’s Alternative School, ensuring the appropriate education
and development of students.

In your role, you will be required to:

• Provide a high quality learning experience for students through effective and innovative teaching of English and English Literature, from functional skills to GCSE, and to oversee relevant qualifications.
• To be able to teach an additional subject
• Work with students and staff to ensure LifeLine ethos and values are reflected throughout the provision.
• Prepare appropriate lesson plans as set out in the handbook.
• Keep the provision’s marking policy including setting and marking homework as appropriate.
• Monitor and record students’ progress.
• Complete attendance registers and inform parents/carers when there is unauthorised absence.
• Mentor a small tutor group and to set and review targets for their ILPs.
• Supervise students at break times.
• Complete termly progress cards and annual reports.
• Attend parent’s evenings.
• Observe and implement the organisation’s practice guidelines, systems and procedures, including equal opportunities and health and safety.

The successful candidate will be required to have:

Experience – Essential
• Experience of working with young people who may have challenging behavioural issues.

Skills and Abilities – Essential
• Experience and competency to teach English & English Literature up to GCSE and Functional Skills Level
• The ability to teach an additional subject
• The ability to teach in an enthusiastic and imaginative manner in order to engage students who are out of mainstream schooling.
• Good classroom management skills.
• A commitment to bringing out the full potential of the students.

Under the maxim: ‘Leading the way – learning through play our Ilford Nursery is purpose built with a large garden, giant indoor sandpit and brand new soft play zone. Many of our children live in high density housing and we offer an innovative, fun and active learning environment.
The Nursery Manager will equip all children to function as a member of a socially inclusive group and enable them to develop positive, co-operative and supportive relationships with peers and adults. In your role, you will be required to provide:

  • Training and support for staff

  • Propagate exemplary practice in childcare and education

  • Develop and manage all aspects of the nursery including marketing and administration

  • Ensure a high quality of education and childcare by following all Ofsted requirements as set out in the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage


The successful candidate will be required to hold a NNEB/CACHE, BTEC or NVQ in Childcare at Level 3 or above and have previous management experience within a day care setting and of child protection and safeguarding.
